Government attaches great importance to job skill development – Minister V Sivankutty
Minister of Public Education and Employment Department V Sivankutty said that the government is giving great importance to the field of vocational education and training. He was speaking while inaugurating the new building and development works as a part of raising Koilanti ITI to international standards.
A big boom is taking place in this sector with imparting skill training and opening of new vocational training centres. The minister said that the government is preparing new opportunities for advancement in the field of labor skills. Koilandi Govt. Allowing new trades in ITI will be sympathetically considered, the minister added. Kanathil Jamila MLA presided.
In 1986 with 2 trades namely electronics mechanic and fitter, Koilandi Govt. In ITI, renovation work was carried out by spending four crore forty lakh rupees from the government’s KIFB fund. Administrative Block, Seminar Hall, Smart Classroom, Security Cabin, Campus Road, CCTV constructed in the first phase. Surveillance system facilities are provided. Fire protection systems and a 100 kW generator have been installed.
Apart from canteen facility, production center, one lakh liter rainwater tank, biogas plant, etc. have also been constructed in the campus.
Chairperson of Koyalanti Municipality Sudha Akishkepat was the chief guest. KASE Chief Operating Officer TP Vinod presented the report. Pantalayani Block Panchayat President P Baburaj, Payoli Block Panchayat President Suresh Changadath, Chengotukav Gram Panchayat President Sheeba Malail, Koilanti Municipality Vice Chairperson K Sathyan, Standing Committee Chairpersons K Shiju, People’s Representatives and representatives of various political parties spoke. Additional Director of Training KP Sivasankaran welcomed and ITI Principal P Pramodkumar gave vote of thanks.
