His wife Ushabai approached the Telangana High Court seeking bail for Goshamahal MLA Rajasingh, who was arrested on charges of inciting religious hatred. It is known that Raja Singh was arrested on 25th of last month under the PD Act. Ushabai sought quashing of GO 1651 issued by the government confirming the proceedings issued under the PD Act.

Ushabai claimed that Rajasingh was illegally detained from August 26 against Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution. It is unfair to arrest under the PD Act without telling about the cases. The commissioner said that there are many cases against Rajasingh and mentioned only three recently registered cases. She explained to the court that they know their malicious intent in issuing orders without mentioning other cases.
Before arresting Rajasingh, according to the Supreme Court guidelines, section 41A notice of CrPC should be given. The lower court refused to send Rajasingh to remand because Rajasingh was arrested without giving such a notice. It has been stated in the petition that Rajasingh was illegally arrested.. He should be granted bail.
