Godolphin’s two fillies, Immersive and Bondering, are looking to claim their first title in the world’s top-ranked Group 1 races when they compete today in the Spinaway Stakes, a race for two-year-old fillies, over 1,400 metres of dirt on the famous Saratoga Racecourse in the US.
Godolphin will also field Charlie Appleby’s Eternal Hope in the Group 2 Bull Stakes over 2,200 metres of grass.
Nyquist’s Emmersive, trained by Brad Cox, returns to Saratoga after showing her mettle in a two-length win in the Novices last July, while Hard Spun’s Bondering, trained by Brendan Walsh, heads to Saratoga on the back of her impressive performance in July, winning by two and a quarter lengths over her closest competitor.
Eternal Hope, a filly by Teofilo, is looking to snatch her third victory in group races, building on her great abilities that led her at the end of her participation last year to achieve two remarkable victories in the American racing season, by winning the Jockey Club Oaks for Group 3 horses in September 2023, followed by the Sands Point Stakes for Group 2 horses last October.
Godolphin’s Americas breeding director, Michael Banahan, commented on the participation of the fillies “Emersive” and “Bondering” in the “Spinaway Stakes”, saying: “Both fillies gave an impressive performance in their racing debuts, and trained well.”
He added in press statements: “The two fillies enter the Spinaway Stakes in excellent condition.”
