On July 31 this year, Utla Padmavati, a resident of Indranagar in Uravakonda, locked the houses of Ramanjinamma in Ambedkar Nagar and went to visit relatives. As they were leaving, the thugs broke into two houses and stole 5.5 lbs of gold jewelery. Uravakonda police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

The accused were sharing shares at Uravakonda Agricultural Market Yard on Saturday when the police noticed and arrested them. Imam of Dudekula of Guntakal confessed to the theft after arresting Muniswamy and interrogating him in his own style. 7.3 lbs of gold jewelery and 49 lbs of silverware were seized from them. The value of the jewelery was around Rs 3,57,900, police said. The accused were said to have been remanded.
