The golf team delegation will depart this afternoon, heading to Oman, to participate in the eighth Gulf Cooperation Council Championship for juniors under 16, the seventh for women, and the first for girls under 16, scheduled to be held from the 20th to the 25th of this month on the grounds of the Ghala Golf Club in the capital, Muscat.
The delegation is headed by the Vice President of the Federation, Major General Abdullah Al-Hashemi, and includes the Secretary-General of the Federation and Director of National Teams, Khaled Al-Shamsi, and coach Faisal Al-Sarghini. The UAE national team is represented by nine male and female players, namely: Muhammad Jassim Thabet, Tariq Al-Emadi, and Abdullah Muhammad Darwish at the level of the U-16 junior team. One year old, and the player Ziad Ali Abu Bakr is in the U-13 Cubs category, and the women’s team consists of Intisar Al-Rish, Fay Al-Balushi, Lara Al-Shayeb, and in the under-16 women’s category, players Sarah Ali Abu Bakr and Anka Mathieu.
The teams prepared through external camps in Morocco before participating in many local and Arab tournaments.
Major General Al-Hashimi praised the commitment and enthusiasm that prevailed in the stages of preparing the teams.
