In such a situation, energy demand has increased. In view of this winter, the government oil PSU has given some relief in the price of LPG cylinder.
However, this relief is available only on commercial LPG cylinders i.e. confectionary cylinders. According to the information received from Indian Oil, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder has been reduced from today i.e. from January 1, 2025. This reduction is Rs 14.50 per cylinder. However, the price of 14 kg LPG cylinder used in homes has been left the same.
19 kg LPG cylinder is called commercial gas cylinder in company language and Halwai cylinder in common parlance. The price of this 19 kg commercial gas cylinder in Delhi has now reduced to Rs 1814. Last December, the price of this cylinder was increased by Rs 16.50 and during last November its price was increased by Rs 62.
On October 1, 2024, this cylinder was available for Rs 1740. After 5 consecutive months of increase, there has been relief in it for the sixth month. According to IOCL, now the price of this cylinder (commercial gas cylinder) has become Rs 1911.00 in Kolkata, Rs 1756.00 in Mumbai and Rs 1966.00 in Chennai. In Patna also its price has reduced to Rs 2057.
