San Francisco. Google has unveiled its new artificial intelligence (AI) service ‘Bard’ to compete against OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which is now being ‘trusted’ by the company before being made ‘more widely available to the public in the coming weeks’ Has been opened for testers.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in a blogpost on Monday that Bard is an “experimental conversational AI service” powered by the Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LAMDA).
The tool aims to ‘combine the depth of knowledge of the world with the power, intelligence and creativity of our large language model’.
It uses data from across the web to provide fresh, high-quality responses.
The tech giant is initially releasing it using a lighter model version of the LMDA.
This much smaller model requires significantly less computing power, allowing the company to scale to more users, resulting in greater responsiveness.
Pichai said Google will combine external feedback with its own internal testing to ensure Bard’s responses “meet a high bar for quality and security in real-world information.”(IANS)
