San Francisco. Tech giant Google has introduced a new ‘Reading Practice’ feature for its Play Books Android application and Kids Space to help new readers with vocabulary and comprehension skills. The new feature, now available in the US, will highlight text so users can read it aloud, the tech giant said in a blogpost on Thursday. It will track users’ reading, where they are in the book, and help them focus on the next word.
If users are stuck on how to pronounce a word, they can tap it to hear its correct pronunciation.
Plus, the new feature provides kid-friendly definitions of a word, in case users want to learn more about the word.
At the end of the page, they will have the option to skip or practice any misspelled words, the company said.
The tech giant further mentioned that users can use the reading practice filter in Google Play Books to limit their store or library search to e-books that offer reading practice.(IANS)
