Governance Ranks .. Telangana top in two categories

The Central Government has announced the governance ranks as a measure of the talent displayed by the states in various fields. Former Prime Minister Vajpayee’s birthday is celebrated on December 25 as ‘Governance Day’. In this context, at an event in Delhi on Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the index compiled under the auspices of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Complaints.

Central Government based on the progress made by the States in 10 areas namely Agriculture – Allied Sectors, Trade-Industries, Human Resource Development, Public Health, Infrastructure-Services, Economic Governance, Social Welfare-Development, Judiciary – Public Security, Environment, Civilized Governance. Announced good governance ranks. Out of the 10 states in Group-A, Telangana was ranked 9th out of 10 states with a score of 4.842. Andhra Pradesh was at the bottom with a score of 4.470. Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa are in the top three. Delhi topped the list of Union Territories.

According to the index, Telangana ranks first in Group A in terms of trade, industry, social welfare and development, on par with Kerala. With a score of 0.699 in the field of trade and industry, 0.617 in the field of social welfare and development topped the list. It was ranked second in the public infrastructure sector with a score of 0.793. It also ranked second in the field of financial administration with a score of 0.632. AP is at the top in agriculture and allied sectors. Telangana is in the seventh position.

The Center has declared the ranks by dividing the States and Union Territories into four categories. Northeastern, hilly states; Union Territories; The other states are divided into Group-A and Group-B. Group A includes the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Haryana, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Punjab. According to the report, Gujarat grew by 12 per cent and Goa by 25 per cent compared to the 2019 index. Uttar Pradesh has joined the list of states that are exceptionally recovering with 9 per cent better governance than in 2019. The report makes it clear that 20 states have risen well in the assigned ranks based on a total of ten factors. The report makes it clear that almost all states are optimistic about the development.
