DURANGO, DGO.- The governor of Durango, Esteban Villegas, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) praised the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador and described him as “the greatest transformer of the country.”
“Love is repaid with love and his presidential mandate will be engraved in our hearts forever,” the PRI member said to the federal president.

“You President will be remembered as the president of the people and as the greatest transformer in modern history in Mexico”he expressed.
Villegas, who received boos, told President López Obrador that he will always have his doors open in Durango even if he is no longer president of the nation.
I would have liked to meet López Obrador sooner to “fight alongside you for many years,” said the entity’s president.
After his words, the governor received jeers and boos, then the president of the country came out in defense of the governor.

“We have worked together and he has respected us, not like others. But the most important thing, it is not only the personal and institutional relationship, it is that I know that he cares about the needs of the people,” said López Obrador.
The head of the federal Executive softened the atmosphere and asked for applause for Governor Villegas amid the rejection he received during the ceremony.
