Google has started launching its artificial intelligence assistant, Duet AI, in Google Workspace services, on a trial basis for a limited number of users.
Google had announced the “Duet AI” assistant, which is based on generative artificial intelligence techniques, earlier as part of the Google I / O 2023 developer conference.
The personal assistant “Duet AI” is still in the experimental stage, as Google had opened the door for users wishing to try it to register through its website. Currently, Google has started providing Duet AI to some users, provided they are subscribers of paid Google Workspace services within the United States.
The “Duet AI” assistant introduces many new features within the various “Google Workspace” applications, which include Google Docs, Google Slides presentations, and Google Sheets spreadsheets, in addition to the Meet video chat application, Gmail email, and others.
Duet AI can perform many complex tasks with the press of a button, depending on the application it is running within. For example, “Duet AI” within the presentations application can generate images and backgrounds from the text commands entered by the user, as the personal assistant works in a side panel, which contains a space dedicated to entering text commands, and it is also possible to choose the type of drawing to be produced, after which it is produced 6 to 8 graphics that can be increased, when the user presses “Show more”, and upon reaching the appropriate image, they can be inserted directly into the presentation, as Google explained in a tweet to her Twitter.
It is worth noting that the images shown by the Google Assistant are generated by artificial intelligence based on the user’s commands, and he does not search for them on the Internet, and fetch them from him.
Likewise, “Duet AI” will help the user to generate texts in the Docs application according to what the user wants to write, as well as help in drafting complete responses professionally within Gmail, using only a few initial phrases, knowing that these texts and responses are subject to modification. .
It is expected that Google will launch its artificial intelligence assistant to more users during the coming period to accelerate the pace of its training, improve it, and fix errors based on user feedback in the experimental phase before its launch on a large scale.
Google is competing with its new assistant Microsoft, which has a similar tool called Copilot in Microsoft 365 services, which in turn competes with the “Google Workspace” group of services.
