Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary (CS) Sameer Sharma has extended his tenure. The center granted permission to extend for another six months. This means that the CS service has been extended till November 30 this year. Earlier, the Center had extended the service of Sameer Sharma for 6 months. Now allowed to extend for another six months. CS Sameer Sharma became the first officer in Andhra Pradesh to get an extension of more than six months. In the past, the Center had given that opportunity only to UP and Bihar CSs. Sameer Sharma is a 1985 batch IAS officer. In joint Andhra Pradesh, he served as CMD of Opco and ITDC. Sameer Sharma is due to retire in November last year. But the government sent proposals to the Center seeking extension of Sameer Sharma’s tenure. After that, the relevant orders were issued approving the extension proposal. However, with the extension, Sameer Sharma served as the AP’s chief secretary for another six months. Now extended for another six months.
