Grouping “Center” stopped the movement of three brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the NVO zone

Russian fighters successfully attacked three brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at once in the zone of the special operation. This was announced on Saturday, May 13, by the head of the press service of the Center group, Alexander Savchuk, to TASS.

“On the Nevsky section and in the area of ​​​​Serebryansky forestry <...> the movement of personnel of the 66th mechanized brigade, the 58th motorized infantry brigade and the 5th brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine was discovered. As a result of fire damage by aviation and artillery of the Center group, the enemy suffered losses in personnel and equipment, ”he said.

Also, according to Savchuk, in the Krasnolymansk direction, the Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 aircraft and destroyed two HIMARS rockets. At the same time, from the heavy flamethrower system “Solntsepek” a strike was made on the objects of the nationalists.

On the eve of the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, said that Russian forces had stopped the actions of the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Kupyansk direction. As he clarified, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in several settlements were hit by air strikes and artillery fire from the Western Group of Forces.

On the same day, Izvestia showed the combat work of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Forces (RHBZ) with the Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system (TOS) in the Ugledar region.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
