Throughout the last decades, the Team 5 It has established itself as one of the most important orchestras in the country thanks to its musical successes. The group has even managed to fill stadiums for their massive concerts; however, few know about its beginnings and what was its path of improvement to become one of the most famous bands in Peru. How was Group 5 founded?
The brothers Elmer and Víctor Yaipén Uypán were music fanatics and, before the creation of various orchestras in Latin America, they decided on January 31, 1973 to embark on their own path in the music industry and founded Grupo 5. They were joined by their other brothers Jorge, Walter and Javier Yaipén.
Why was the orchestra named Group 5?
Several doubts have been woven about why the orchestra decided to name itself as the Team 5. On a tour of Mexico, the vocalist Christian Yaipén decided to reveal this great doubt and assured that it was due to the number of members. “It was founded in the 1970s, 1973 to be exact. They began making ballads at that time. There were five members and that is why Group 5 was put on, ”said Christian Yaipén.
