Hamas, which denied that its terrorists had beheaded Jews during the attacks on the 7th, has been advocating these practices, and some more atrocious ones, since 2019. The ringleaders claimed that Hamas never does such things and that they were committed by Gaza gangsters who had followed Hamas units to Israel.
However, in 2019 and again in 2021, the terrorist group published two video clips in which it recommends these types of practices, Memri reports. Fathi Hamad, a member of Hamas’s political bureau and former interior minister in Gaza, said in a public speech broadcast on Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV channel on July 12, 2019: “We will not die of hunger. If we die, it will be while we are killing you and cutting off heads, Allah willing. (…) There are Jews everywhere! We must attack all the Jews on planet Earth: we must massacre and kill them with the help of Allah. If we die, we will die – but we will die with honor, while we attack, and not while we retreat! We will die while we explode and cut off the necks and legs of the Jews! We will tear them apart and tear them to pieces if Allah wills.”
Two years later, on May 7, 2021, Hammad reiterated this threat in another public speech, also broadcast on Al-Aqsa TV: “People of Jerusalem, we want you to cut off the heads of the Jews with knives. With your hand, cut their artery. Buy a knife, sharpen it, put it there and just cut off their head. It costs only five shekels. With those five shekels you will humiliate the Jewish State.”
