New Delhi: CSK – Dhoni, Congratulations… At least we are happy that you are getting respect and love, says wrestler Sakshi Malik.
Indian women wrestlers have accused Indian Wrestling Federation president Brij Bhushan Charan Singh of sexual misconduct. They had been protesting at Jandar Mantar in Delhi since last month demanding appropriate action against him. These include Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, who have won medals at the world level including the Olympics for India.
Last Sunday (May 28), the protesting wrestlers and women, along with the farmers who supported them, tried to rally towards the new Parliament. The Delhi Police stopped them and arrested them. Subsequently, a case was registered against them. Also permission to protest at Jandar Mantar was denied.
In this context, wrestlers have announced that they are going to throw their medals into the Ganges. In this situation, Sakshi Malik has congratulated the CSK team for winning the IPL trophy amid protests. He also mentioned the news of denial of justice to them along with the greeting.
Sakshi tweeted, “Congratulations Dhoni G and CSK… We are happy that at least some of the sportsmen are getting the respect and love they deserve. But for us, the fight for justice is still going on.
