New Delhi: It has been reported that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has been recommended to set up a special committee to investigate hate speech complaints against BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri. It seems that the BJP has also recommended the formation of a special committee.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey asked Speaker Om Birla to set up an inquiry committee to look into the hate speech allegations against Ramesh Bidhuri. Accordingly, a 14-member Privilege Committee has been constituted. 8 people including Sunil Kumar Singh belong to BJP. “The Privileges Committee will look into all complaints related to hate speech,” a Lok Sabha Secretariat source said.
Ramesh Bidhuri, an MP from the ruling BJP government at the Centre, had made hateful comments towards his fellow Member of Parliament Danish Ali of the Bahujan Samaj Party. Ramesh Bidhuri lashed out at Danish Ali while discussing Chandrayaan-3 in Parliament. Various political parties are protesting that this is Islamophobic speech. In this context, the BJP has sent a notice to him asking for an explanation.
‘Why shouldn’t you be disciplined for using words that are out of action?’ BJP asked Ramesh Bidhuri. At the same time, Danish Ali had warned that he would resign his membership if no action was taken against Ramesh Bidhuri.
It is noteworthy that Ramesh Bidhuri is the Member of Parliament of Delhi South Constituency.
