Hatta Club Chairman Mohammed Ali bin Khalifa Al Badawi confirmed that the recently opened Hatta Mountain Bike Track will put the city on the game map in the UAE, in addition to organizing community and tourist races that will be held in the emirate, pointing out that the game has witnessed great development over the past years, which will make the Hatta Track a new face for sports in Dubai.
Hatta witnessed the opening of the mountain bike track extending 86 kilometers in the mountainous areas.
The Board of Directors of Hatta Club received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cycling Federation, Mansour Bouasiba, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Federation, Dr. Yasser Al-Dokhi, in the presence of the members of the club’s Board of Directors, Dr. Khamis Al-Mutawa, Haji Al-Badawi, and Khalfan Majid Al-Badawi.
“The club is looking to activate partnerships and cooperation with various sports federations, and there is great interest from the Dubai Sports Council in organising international cycling competitions in the Hatta region. Communication with the Cycling Federation is important and will enrich the club’s information and expertise to deal with such major championships, and cyclists who are accustomed to being permanently present in Hatta,” Mohammed Al Badawi told Al Emarat Al Youm.
He added: “Hatta is one of the most important tourist areas in Dubai due to its nature and factors that help it to do so. The launch of the mountain bike track is a great support for the activity of this area. During the meeting with the Cycling Council, the potential that Hatta has in supporting cycling was discussed, especially after the Dubai Municipality launched the mountain bike track in Hatta.”
