Real Madrid announced the absence of Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale from the squad ahead of the Champions League match against Sheriff Tiraspol on Wednesday.
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti said on Saturday that Hazard was suffering from a stomach injury, while Bale suffered a bruise last week while with Wales for the World Cup qualifiers.
The two players missed the 4-1 victory over Granada on Sunday, in a result that propelled Real to the top of the Spanish League.
Real’s attacking squad witnessed the presence of Karim Benzema, Luka Jovic, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Mariano Diaz among 23 players who will go to Moldova to face Sheriff, who stunned Real 2-1 in Madrid in September.
Real leads Group D with nine points from four matches, two points behind Inter Milan, while Sheriff is trailing by an additional point.
