. The alleged data breach took place between May 2022 and March 2023. But the bank denied this. On March 7, HDFC Bank’s official customer care Twitter account clarified that there was no data breach. The explanation given by the bank is that there has been no data leakage and no hacking has taken place in HDFC Bank.

Earlier this week, a hacker alias Kernelware came to the fore claiming to have leaked the data of HDB Financial Services, a subsidiary of India’s largest private bank, HDFC Bank. The claim alleges that information including name, date of birth, age, phone number, email, residential address, employment information, loan application information and transaction method was leaked. Hacker uploaded sample data. The hacker claims that the leaked information includes sussing fees, credit score, dealer name, transactions and loyalty card numbers.
