Saudi: It is a Saudi national who is working on the release of an Indian who has been in a Saudi jail for five and a half years. Awadesh Sagar (52), an Indian, is in a Saudi jail in a car accident case. Awadesh hails from Bijapur, Uttar Pradesh. He collected two crores of ransom through social media.

He is accused in a car accident that happened in the area of ​​Alahsa Police Station near Bisha on the Riyadh-Twaif road. His job is driving a water delivery lorry. He was driving this vehicle without license or Iqama. One day, while driving on a single lane road, he stopped the lorry in order to save the oncoming speeding vehicle at a curve. But a broken Hilux pick-up of a local youth rammed into his lorry.

The impact of the impact sent the car crashing into a nearby rock pile. The three women in the vehicle and the driver died on the spot. The girl who was with him was seriously injured. Awadesh Sagar got into further legal entanglement due to lack of license and iqama. The court decided to pay 9,45,000 Riyals as compensation for the four dead and the injured girl. But Awadesh could not afford such a huge amount.

Awadesh is the eldest of a family of 10 children. They don’t even own a house. Meanwhile, two girls of Awadesh died. Awadesh’s family knocked many doors for his release but to no avail.
Some Saudi policemen who knew Awadesh’s innocence told the matter to a local social worker named Hadi bin Hamood. Hamood reached the jail and met Awadesh and asked him for information. Then he himself came down to collect this amount.

A Saudi citizen posted a video saying that he should be helped through platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp groups, Instagram and Snapchat. In the video, he talks about the traditional cordial relationship between Indians and Saudis. The video went viral in a big way. But some filed a case alleging that he was collecting money. After realizing the truth, the Saudi authorities allowed Hamood to open a separate bank account. Many came to him with help. 9,45,000 Riyals Hadi bin Hamood was tied up in court on Sunday. Now Awadesh will be released from jail.
