Marcelo Brozović was FC Barcelona’s transfer priority, but it turned out that the Spanish club cannot compete with the Saudi cronies, whose budget is practically unlimited. Fabrizio Romano informed that the transfer of the Croat to Al-Nassr is only a matter of hours.
Meanwhile, a real curiosity happened. It turns out that Arab sheikhs at the last minute… reduced their bid for the Croatian midfielder – this information was confirmed by journalists Gianluca Di Marzio and Matteo Moretto.
Brozovic transfer on hold. Bizarre reason. What about Barcelona?
Initially, Al-Nassr’s bid for Marcelo Brozovic was 23 million euros. Inter Milan accepted this amount and at the time, it seemed that the transfer would be finalized. It turns out that on the final straight, the Saudi club reduced its proposal to €15 million (13+2 in bonuses). At this point, negotiations between the clubs have stalled and it is possible that they will break down completely.
Inter Milan still wants €23m for Marcelo Brozovic – the Croatian’s contract with the club from the capital of Lombardy runs until 2026. This amount is still too high for FC Barcelona, which cannot join the fight for the player due to its deep financial problems.
The situation from Inter’s perspective has become quite complicated. The club wanted to sell the midfielder because he needed money for his transfer. Meanwhile, 15 million euros is not a satisfactory amount for the Nerazzurri, especially since the Croatian midfielder is still awaiting severance pay for his early departure – this information was provided by Gianluca Di Marzio.
