- On AAP Leader’s Request To Transfer Case, Court Seeks Probe Agency Response

Hearing will be held today on the petition of former Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain, lodged in Tihar Jail in money laundering case. Jain has demanded transfer of his case to another judge. Right now his case is being heard by Special Judge Vikas Dhul. On this petition of Jain, Rouse Avenue Court had sought response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Aam Aadmi Party leader Jain was arrested on May 30 last year in a money laundering case. Since then he is in jail. He is accused of creating shell companies and transferring an amount of more than Rs 16 crore through it. His wife Poonam and others are also accused in the case.
The case came to Judge Vikas Dhul only in September 2022
Satyendar Jain has already filed a petition to change the judge of his case. Then Special Judge Gitanjali Goyal was hearing his case. Jain’s petition was heard in September 2022. Then his case was given to Judge Vikas Dhul. However, it is not yet clear why Jain wanted to transfer his case to Vikas Dhull.
Jain is influential, can influence evidence: Court
The bail plea of Satyendar Jain was rejected by the High Court on 6 April. Actually, the court had reserved the decision after the hearing on 22 March. During the hearing, the court said that if he is granted bail, it may affect the investigation. Jain is influential, he can influence the evidence.
