Chennai/Jaipur. Electric two-wheeler maker Hero Electric on Monday said it will set up a mega electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing hub in Rajasthan for Rs 1,200 crore per annum. The company said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government at the Rajasthan summit for investment.
According to the company, the proposed unit will be located in Salarpur Industrial Area on 170 acres and will start production by the end of 2023.
Naveen Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Electric said, “This mega manufacturing facility is part of our capacity addition to boost EV adoption across India. It will allow the state to transition to clean mobility solutions and promote eco-tourism practices. “
Hero Electric said the proposed plant will manufacture all existing and upcoming Hero Electric two-wheelers.
