American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh called the version that the Russian Federation could be involved in undermining the Nord Streams complete nonsense. On May 30, he reported this to the Swiss German-language daily newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
“Let’s say the Russians want to destroy the pipeline. To do this, they choose Bornholm, study the area for several days and return later to plant the bomb. Why should they do it? The only explanation is that they wanted to tell the whole world: “That was us!”. Complete nonsense, ”Hersh told reporters.
Hersh stressed that the explosion on gas pipelines was organized by the United States, but no one asks the government of the United States of America questions about this.
On February 8, in his investigation, Hersh concluded that the explosions on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines on September 26, 2022 were carried out by the United States with the support of Norway. According to him, the Americans and Norwegians carried out the action under the guise of NATO exercises Baltops. In this regard, the Western media soon began to publish articles in which they allegedly revealed a new culprit – the Andromeda yacht, which may have been driven by Ukrainians.
Hersh also said on April 5 that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) always has a front for its covert operations that removes suspicion. According to him, the United States deliberately spread fakes through the media about involvement in the explosions of the Ukrainian yacht Andromeda in order to divert suspicion from the Joe Biden administration.
Hersh said in an interview with Tichys Einblick on April 10 that Washington intended to blackmail Moscow by blowing up Nord Stream in order to prevent Russia from launching a special operation in Ukraine. According to him, the American authorities wanted to find something “unusual” that US President Joe Biden could use as a threat to convince Russia not to launch a special operation in Ukraine.
On May 26, Der Spiegel magazine reported that investigators in Germany have more and more data pointing to Ukraine’s involvement in the explosions on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. Journalists reported that German investigators believe that octogen explosive, which was delivered on the Andromeda yacht, was used to carry out sabotage on Russian gas pipelines.
Germany’s investigation into the bombings has not yet identified the perpetrators of the incident. On May 22, the head of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) of Germany, Bruno Kahl, said that at the moment, not a single intelligence service can unequivocally name those responsible for undermining the Nord Stream
At the end of September 2022, the branches of the largest European gas pipelines Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 were blown up. Russian President Vladimir Putin later called the accidents an act of international terrorism.
