Former US Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has said she does not intend to run for the top job in 2024. This was reported on June 19 by the Financial Times.
“This is out of the question,” the politician said in an interview with the publication.
According to Clinton, the current head of state, Joe Biden, will be nominated from the Democratic Party for a new term. She also did not rule out the participation of Republican Donald Trump in the election.
The 76-year-old Trump himself has already announced that he really intends to participate in the presidential race again.
79-year-old Joe Biden also confirmed his intention to run. His decision was met with skepticism.
Reviewer American Conservative Patrick Buchanan pointed out that Biden has a low chance of being re-elected to the highest government office due to age and health. In 2024, the current American president will be 82 years old. The politician is already the oldest president of the United States.
In his opinion, Biden is highly likely to fail in the midterm elections. In addition, Americans are dissatisfied with the growing inflation in the country and the prices that the actions and policies of the US administration have led to.
The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
