Hindu Rock Temple In Abu Dhabi; The Progress Of The Construction Was Informed To The Prime Minister Of India

Abu Dhabi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was informed about the progress of construction of West Asia’s first traditional Hindu stone temple to be built in Abu Dhabi. Head of Baps Hindu Mandir Swami Brahmaviharidas visited the Prime Minister and conveyed the information. The authorities had earlier announced that the temple would be laid for the devotees in January.

He also shared with Modi the details of the inaugural ‘Festival of Harmony’ to be held on February 14, 2024. During the half-hour meeting in New Delhi, new information was exchanged about the ongoing ‘Festival of Inspiration’ at Baps Swaminarayana Mandir in Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA.

The construction of the temple is more than 50 percent complete. A 3D printed model of the temple was presented to Modi. Brahmaviharidas also conveyed greetings to Modi from Swami Maharaj, spiritual head of Baps Swaminarayanan Sanstha, the organization building the temple in Abu Dhabi. Last March too, the temple authorities had met Modi and reviewed the progress of the construction work.

The opening ceremony on February 14 will not be open to the public. It was inaugurated with spiritual ceremonies under the leadership of Mahant Swami Maharaj. Members of the Indian community in the UAE can participate in the public launch event on February 15 through pre-registration. The temple representatives said that the inaugural celebrations will be the biggest festival of harmony.

A large rock temple is being prepared on 27 acres of land at Abu Muraikha. In August 2015, the UAE government allotted land to build a temple in Abu Dhabi.
