Members of the International Hindu Parishad and the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal organization set fire to a statue of Santa Claus, also known as St. Nicholas, in front of St. John’s College in Agra.
The Hindutva organization has accused the government of using Christmas to convert Hindus to Christianity by offering them numerous free items, clothes, money and food items during the Christmas festivities.
Ajju Chauhan, secretary of the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal organization of the International Hindu Parishad, said, “Students are being forcibly converted in schools run by Christian organizations.
Students are told to dress like Santa Claus, and those who refuse are punished. Christian organizations that use Christmas as an opportunity to spread Christianity. We have been monitoring Christian organizations going into the slums.
We look at whether poor Hindus are converting. Doing so will result in stern action being taken against them. ”
