Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka directed the officials to build townships on the vacant land belonging to HMDA around the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR) to create alternative sources of income. He reviewed the proposals made by the State Municipal Administration and Urban Development for the annual budget of the financial year 2024-25 with the concerned officials at the Secretariat on Thursday. On this occasion, he issued important orders to the officials. HMDA wants to play a vital role in the economy of Telangana. He said that the employment opportunities will also improve through the construction of townships around the ORR. It is suggested to mark the extent of expansion of the roads mentioned in the master plan. Through this, there will be no need to build houses and remove them later. The mortgaged plots in the layouts are being left undeveloped.. The officials were ordered to focus on them. He said that 39 lakh applications received under LRS should be dealt with speedily. Plots purchased through auction in industrial areas should be taken back if they are not used. If that is not possible, they want to get the share of the government. The officials of HMDA were instructed to record the ponds in HMDA area in each case. With the construction of townships around the ORR, those areas will be further developed. While those areas are already developed in terms of real estate, the lands will get wings with the decision of the government.
