The new decision is part of the implementation of the 2040 Vision in Oman. Speaking at the presentation of the follow-up unit’s 2021 annual report, Khalid al-Shuaibi said the sultanate was considering implementing a long-term visa plan.

The second phase will allow entrepreneurs, innovators and creative personalities to apply for the long-term visa scheme in the second phase. Khalid al-Shuaibi said at the ceremony that all new proposals have been submitted to the Council of Ministers and the second phase will be announced soon after approval.

So far, 463 expatriates in Oman have been issued long-term residency cards. This was announced by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. The visa is issued to expatriate investors from different countries. Many Malayalees have got long term residency cards.
