People who rent their homes in Hawaii earn the most money on Airbnb on average.

Using data from Airbnb host payments, the Tipalti portal revealed that people are making a good amount of money on this platform. And it is that the average annual earnings for Airbnb hosts in the United States was $44,235.
The hosts of the United States were the top earners that year.
Airbnb hosts from Hawaii, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, earned an average of $73,247.
Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the second most lucrative state was Tennessee. The estate is home to log cabins which are very popular. Hosts from this state earned an average of $67,510.
Third place went to the state of Arizona, where the average host earned $60,448..
Several other states on the list are no surprise: Airbnb hosts in Colorado, California, and Florida earned $58,108, $54,461, and $53,209, respectively.
Other states such as South Carolina, Utah, Oregon, and Alabama were a surprise, with hosts in these places earning an average of between $41,000 and $50,000.
The US city with the highest average annual host income was San Diego, California. Airbnb hosts in San Diego earned, on average, $77,990 per year.
The city of Austin, Texas, has the second highest median annual income for hosts, at $72,241 per year.
And the third-highest median annual earnings for hosts come from the city of Kissimmee, Florida, at $70,539 per year.
On the other hand, hosts in Australia were the second highest earning country for hosts with an average annual take in of nearly $28,000, while hosts in the UK earned just over $22,000 renting out their homes.
