On May 9, at 15:00, the Immortal Regiment action will begin in Moscow, in which all residents and guests of the capital will be able to take part. For the first time in the past two years, this procession will be held in-person – in Russia, the sanitary restrictions that were in place due to the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted.
Gathering of participants – at 12:00. The columns will be formed at the exit from the Belorusskaya, Dynamo and Mayakovskaya metro stations.
You should plan your trip taking into account the fact that Pushkinskaya, Mayakovskaya, Okhotny Ryad, Tverskaya, Chekhovskaya, Revolution Square and Teatralnaya metro stations will be closed on Victory Day. They will also block traffic on some streets of Moscow.
The route of the “Immortal Regiment”: along Leningradsky Prospekt, Tverskaya and 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya streets through Okhotny Ryad Street, Manezhnaya and Red Squares. Its length is 7 km.
To join the action, you need to come at the appointed time and place. Take with you a photo or several pictures of ancestors who participated in the Great Patriotic War, as well as an identity document. Holiday symbols are welcome: Russian flags and Banners of Victory, St. George ribbons, etc.
It is forbidden to carry alcoholic beverages, piercing and cutting objects. For safety reasons – personal and other participants – the organizers do not recommend coming on bicycles, rollerblades or skateboards. Dogs and other pets must be left at home.
It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes, comfortable clothes, a hat. When choosing an outfit, it is best to start from the weather forecast. Forecasters say it could be chilly and windy. During the day the air temperature will reach +8…+13 degrees. Rain is out of the question.
The city authorities remind that a portrait of a relative can be printed free of charge in My Documents. Employees at the public service centers will help you complete a veteran’s questionnaire and give you a picture. All images will be scanned and additionally placed in the Immortal Regiment. Moscow”.
Organizers expect more than a million people to join the procession.
In addition to the capital, actions will be held in many settlements in Russia and abroad.
The online format of the Immortal Regiment has also been preserved. Particular attention will be paid to preventing provocations with uploading photos of Nazis, including Ukrainian ones.
