Dark Web Report is a feature that scans the dark web for potential theft or data breach related to user accounts. Also, it checks whether any personal information including email address and password has been leaked online.
This feature allows users to run a check on the dark web associated with an email address, and the result of a breach may include information about your name, address, phone number, email, social security number (SSN), username, and passwords.
Dark Web Report is free and also available for Google One users. However paid users will get some more features. This includes continuous monitoring of the dark web for your personal information, information about results other than your email address, and notifications for new results.
How to run a dark web scan on your Google account…? Here are the steps
- Download and install the latest version of the Google app
- Now, tap on the profile icon and select the dark web report option
- Then, on the next page, tap the “Run Scan Button”
- Wait for the scan process to complete and then check the result
Google also recommends suggestions on possible actions to be taken later if it finds some violations in your account. You can follow those guidelines to keep your account safe.
