Hundreds of young people in youth care homeless after their 18th birthday: ‘Felt like I was being punished’

For many young people, their eighteenth birthday is a milestone to look forward to, but that is often different in youth care institutions. There, 65 percent of young people with intensive guidance have to leave when they reach that age. One fifth of them become homeless or homeless.
