Hyderabad, The 66th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) was lost to rain. There was to be a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans on Thursday but due to rain the match was canceled without a single ball being bowled. Due to which both the teams got one point each.
With this, Sunrisers Hyderabad, captained by Pat Cummins, became the third team to reach the playoffs. Hyderabad now has 15 points and it is decided that Hyderabad will remain in the top-4. If Hyderabad team wins the match against Punjab Kings on Sunday, it will have 17 points. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have already qualified for the playoffs. That means now only one team can reach the playoffs.

In such a situation, the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings has become interesting. Whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad reaching the playoffs means that Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants will be out of the race for the playoffs. Now the match between CSK and RCB has been knocked out. The team that wins this match will become the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs.
However, the net run rate will also be seen in this match. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have suffered a big blow due to the cancellation of the match between Hyderabad vs Gujarat Titans. CSK has slipped from third to fourth place in the points table. It is noteworthy that Gujarat Titans also became the first IPL team (IPL 2024) whose matches were canceled continuously. This also led to a disappointing end to their IPL 2024 season.
