TSRTC has recently taken another important decision. Special buses have been brought for IT employees in Hyderabad to reach their offices quickly. Wi-Fi facility will also be available in these mini AC buses which will be run in the name of Cyber Liner. RTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy and RTC MD Sajjanar will launch these special buses near Cyber Towers in Hi-Tech City at 4 pm on Monday. These buses will run from Rayadurgam Metro Station to Wave Rock, Wipro Circle and Ghar IT hubs in Kokapet where IT companies are mostly present.
Mini buses will ply from 7 am to 12 pm and again from 4 pm to 8.30 pm every day. Care will be taken to ensure that one bus is available every 15 minutes. Currently, these buses will be run as a pilot project, depending on the response from IT employees and passengers, the number of buses will be increased. TSRTC officials say that IT employees can reach offices immediately by these mini buses after getting off near Rayadurgam metro station.
After alighting near the metro station, the officials found that the buses were not on time to reach the offices. Mini buses have been introduced by the authorities to compensate this deficit. Earlier, TSRTC operated Metro luxury AC buses in the IT corridor. But after the metro services came, they were stopped due to lack of occupancy. Now these mini buses have been brought in their place. Seven years ago, RTC bought 100 mini buses and ran them on some routes under the name of Vajra. But they were not very successful. As a result, they did not get much response even if they were run in distant areas. Out of them 68 buses were damaged and thrown aside. The remaining 32 buses will be modernized and will now run in the IT corridor under the name of Cyber Liner.
