Rains: It is raining heavily in many parts of Hyderabad. Weather officials have warned that heavy to very heavy rains will occur in the next two hours. In this context, the Mayor alerted the GHMC officials. A helpline number has been set up for assistance programs. A warning has been issued to the people of the city to come out only if necessary.

It is raining heavily in the surrounding areas of Serilingampally. Due to this, heavy rain water has stagnated under the bridge. Vehicular traffic was stopped due to flood water. Lingampally railway station underpass flooded due to heavy rain. Half of an RTC bus was submerged in rain water. Traffic jams occurred in the main intersections of the city due to heavy rain water. Low-lying areas were flooded. Heavy flood water entered the houses in many colonies. There was severe disruption of power supply in some places. A huge tree fell to the ground in MLA Colony in the early hours of Wednesday morning. A power pole next to it collapsed along with it. But as it was after midnight, a major accident was averted.
GHMC officials have been alerted in the wake of heavy rains. Mayor Vijayalakshmi directed the officials to ensure that DRFTMs are available in the low-lying areas. People in old buildings should be moved to safer places immediately. City residents have been warned to go out only if necessary. It is advised to contact the helpline number 9000113667 for relief programs under GHMC.
The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning of heavy rains in the city and Telangana for the next three days. Warangal, Janagama, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Hanmakonda, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Yadadri are expected to receive heavy rains today, it said. It has been revealed that Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medchal, Bhupalapalli and Medak districts will receive heavy rains. On Friday, Nizamabad, Kamareddy on Saturday, Nalgonda, Khammam, Suryapet and Bhadradri districts are warned of heavy rains. In the wake of heavy rains, the government has announced a two-day holiday for all educational institutions in the state.
