In this context, Amritpal Singh made sensational comments that he does not consider himself an Indian. Speaking to news agency ANI, he said, ‘I don’t consider myself an Indian citizen… I only have an Indian passport which is used as a travel document… that does not make me an Indian citizen’.
Amritpal said, ‘Lovepreet’s arrest and release will change the course of the future.. If the police had been alert, the accident would have been avoided.. The police acted hastily based on false intelligence reports.. The authorities gave me false information that they did not support me’. Describing militancy as a very natural phenomenon, Amritpal warned that if the police try to stop a non-violent protest, the violence will not be under their control.
‘Militancy is not something that I can start.. No one can start or end militancy. Militancy is a natural phenomenon. It happens anywhere after a long period of repression.. Is militancy a constructive thing? I cannot order anyone to start militancy, it will not happen,” said Amritpal.
