Statistical data indirectly indicate the likelihood of an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia, which may occur in May and June. On Sunday, May 8, said the candidate of medical sciences, immunologist Nikolai Kryuchkov.
“In the next two months, in May and June, surges in the incidence of COVID-19 are quite possible. Most likely, the first surge is already happening at this very time in large Russian cities. Of course, the new wave is in no way comparable to either Delta or Omicron. Nevertheless, we see indirect signs of a new wave in the dynamics of mortality and in the shift in terms of the number of hospitalizations, ”the expert said in an interview with Sputnik radio.
At the same time, a new wave of morbidity may go unnoticed: according to Kryuchkov, not all infected people undergo PCR testing. However, new lines of coronavirus infection may appear in the fall.
