Let us recall once again that the storm related to the financing of speedway clubs by state-owned companies was started by senator Władysław Komarnicki, who, after winning the mandate, promised that he would do everything to put an end to this precedent. His words were intended to be aimed primarily at Motor Lublin, which benefits from the support of, among others, Azoty Group, PKO BP Bank, Lotto, Orlen Group, and LW Bogdanka.
LW Bogdanka denies reports of financial problems
The company’s press office even issued a special statement in response to the article published by the WP portal. We read in it about the alleged financial problems of LW Bogdanka, which could influence a possible decision to withdraw from further sponsorship of Motor Lublin.
– In the case of the Motor Lublin speedway team, the exposure value of the Bogdanka brand in 2022 amounted to PLN 11,334.8 thousand. PLN, and until September 30 this year. the total value of the Bogdanka brand exposure was PLN 12,789,412. The company positively assesses the profitability of this sponsorship project, including the sports results. The very high popularity of the speedway club among the Company’s stakeholders, both external and internal, is also important.
– LW Bogdanka is a proud strategic sponsor of Motor Lublin and wants to remain so. Due to the above, the Company sees no grounds for early termination of cooperation – the company announced in an official statement.
The engine can sleep peacefully
LW Bogdanka’s statement is not the only good news for the Lublin club. Everything indicates that other sponsors with state capital will continue to support speedway. This is the result of long-term contracts that Motor’s authorities have concluded with these companies. Therefore, there are no concerns about the implementation of contracts for the 2024 season.
Not so long ago, world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik extended his new two-year contract with the club from Lulin. The one in Poland earns the highest, record-breaking money. This year, there was talk of a contract worth PLN 5-6 million. Perhaps the player has now won a raise. In any case, the implementation of such a contract does not come out of nowhere, and the activists certainly have a secured budget for this purpose.
