In Lisichansk, work is underway to detain employees of the office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported on June 26 by the People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LNR).
“In Lysichansk, in addition to many foreign mercenaries, there are several high-ranking employees of the office of President Zelensky. Now all the necessary measures are being taken so that they cannot sneak out of the city, ”TASS quoted a source as saying.
On June 26, the LPR forces reached the industrial zone of Lisichansk. According to the ambassador of the republic in Russia, Rodion Miroshnik, an operation is being actively carried out in the south of the city in the area of a rubber products plant and a gelatin plant.
A day earlier, the People’s Militia of the LPR reported that the allied forces of the republic and the Russian Federation had entered Lisichansk and battles were taking place within the city. Then it became known that the mine in Lisichansk and one of the factories were taken under the control of the allied forces.
On June 23, it was reported that the LNR forces took control of the only road from Seversk to Lysichansk. On the same day, the allied forces of the LPR and the Russian Federation defeated the Ukrainian military while trying to break out of the cauldron in the Lisichansk direction.
On February 24, Russia announced the start of a special operation to protect Donbass. The operation began against the backdrop of the situation in the Donbass that worsened in mid-February. The authorities of the DPR and LPR reported increased shelling by Ukrainian troops, announced the evacuation of civilians in the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.
