The state of emergency was introduced on May 7 in the municipality of the Gorny Ulus of Yakutia due to flooding against the background of active snowmelt and rising water levels in local rivers and reservoirs.
According to local residents, in the settlements of Byai-Kyuel, Magaras and Ert, most of the residential buildings have already been under water. Outbuildings, garages, cowsheds, social facilities, and a boiler house were flooded. At the same time, according to eyewitnesses, the water continues to arrive at high speed.
“The house was flooded for the first time. Two years ago, a fire destroyed the forests, and a lot of snow fell this year, ”said one of the residents of the Gorny Ulus village.
At the moment, residents of the flooded houses are placed with relatives, the administration of the municipal district said.
On the eve of the Sverdlovsk region introduced a state of emergency in connection with large fires. So, in the village of Pervomaisky, warehouses caught fire. Sverdlovsk firefighters saved three gunpowder warehouses from a fire.
Vladimir Mytarev, general director of Gefest-M, the owner of warehouses in the region, said that out of 36 warehouses located in the village of Pervomaisky, only eight objects are occupied by combustible substances. He noted that one empty warehouse and one with gunpowder burned down.
The governor of the region Evgeny Kuyvashev announced the critical situation with fires in the Sverdlovsk region. The authorities requested federal assistance. The total area of fires in the Sverdlovsk region amounted to 20 thousand hectares.
