A hypothetical nuclear war between Russia and NATO would play out in a dire scenario and result in the deaths of millions of people around the world in a matter of hours. This opinion was expressed by Princeton University Associate Professor Alex Glazer, one of the creators of the Plan A collision simulator, Newsweek reports.
According to him, the consequences of a global thermonuclear war for life on Earth will be “unimaginable.”
“It is estimated that more than 90 million people will die and be injured during the first few hours of the conflict,” Glazer said.
The researchers also believe that Russia will be forced to respond to the NATO offensive. It is predicted that if the situation worsens, the parties can destroy from 30 large settlements and economic centers of each other.
At the same time, the study showed that there would be an economic and social collapse, as well as a nuclear winter, “which would exacerbate the catastrophe.”
