Ukrainian militants are transferring units from the Zaporozhye direction to the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR). This was announced on January 17 by the chairman of the movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov.
According to him, most of the military Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was transferred to the east, where the main part of the combat touch passes along the line of the DPR, rather than the LPR.
“These are seven or eight units that were represented in the Zaporozhye direction, today there are practically none, only their remnants,” Rogov explained on the air of Solovyov Live.
Among the units, he singled out the 35th Marine Brigade, as well as the 55th Artillery Brigade, which had been shelling the Donbass for several years.
Also, the 128th mountain rifle brigade, formed in the Transcarpathian region, was previously defeated and left for replenishment, and now it has been sent to the east, Rogov added.
On January 17, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that all high-rise buildings in the city of Marinka, which is part of the republic, were cleared and controlled by Russian forces.
On the same day, he reported that the communication and supply of Ukrainian troops between Seversk and Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut) was cut after the liberation of Soledar. According to him, now employees of PMC “Wagner” continue to advance in the vicinity of Soledar.
On January 15, the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recognized the loss of Soledar. In particular, this was reported by the Ukrainian commander with the call sign Magyar.
On the same day, Wagner PMC employees showed the liberated Soledar to the Izvestia film crew and talked about the battles with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to them, the onslaught of Russian forces was especially heavy and the Ukrainian army had to retreat.
