The militants of the nationalist battalions “Kraken” and “Azov” (recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation) have killed seven and wounded 18 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporozhye region since mid-December. This was announced on Monday, January 16, by the chairman of the movement “We are with Russia” Vladimir Rogov.
“Since mid-December, at least there have been about a dozen shootings or just shooting [со стороны батальонов «Кракен» и «Азов»] in relation to representatives of the defense. We are talking about seven people who were killed, and 18 people are currently in the 9th city hospital in Zaporozhye, some in serious condition,” he told TASS.
Rogov stressed that those servicemen who did not want to fight, left their positions or refused to follow the orders of their commanders received injuries and injuries.
The Ukrainian side claims that all these soldiers died as a result of hostilities, however, according to Rogov, this is not true.
Earlier, on January 12, captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told Izvestia about the losses in the ranks of the Ukrainian army and about the indifference of the command, which “throws” the military on the battlefield. According to him, the Ukrainian command, sending the military on a mission, uses threats. At the same time, he often gives “moronic” orders.
On January 4, a fighter of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian army, Vitaliy Lishchuk, who was captured by the Russian military, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine opened fire on fellow soldiers who had surrendered.
Prior to that, on December 27, 2022, a prisoner of war of the fourth tank brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yevhen Tserush, who laid down his arms, said that Ukrainian soldiers abandoned by their superiors were starving and drinking from puddles in order to survive. According to him, after being taken prisoner, the Russian military fed him and gave him water.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
