Gagaria: A Bihar daily wage laborer has been issued a notice by the Income Tax Department asking him to pay arrears of Rs 37.5 lakh. The police have registered a case and are investigating the complaint.
Girish Yadav hails from Mahana village in Kagaria district of Bihar. He earns Rs.500 per day. In this case, the Income Tax Department has sent a notice in his name. It has been asked to pay tax arrears of Rs.37.5 lakh. Girish Yadav was shocked to see it.
Complain to the police
Girish Yadav lodged a complaint at Alali police station. The police have registered a case and are investigating. According to the police, in the initial investigation, it seems that fraud has taken place by obtaining a PAN card in the name of Girish Yadav. Girish, who works in Delhi, tried to get a PAN card through a broker a few years ago. But, after that there was no response from the broker.
According to the Income Tax notice, Girish Yadav was working in a company in Rajasthan. However, Girish Yadav has said that he has never worked in Rajasthan. Someone got a PAN card in the name of Girish Yadav and misused it. The police are engaged in tracing the fraudster.
