Nagpur: India have taken a 50+ run lead in the first innings of the first Test against Australia. Captain Rohit Sharma scored a century in the first innings. He lost his wicket after scoring 120 runs.
This competition started yesterday. Australia won the toss and batted first and scored 177 runs. The Indian team finished the first day’s match with 77 runs for the loss of 1 wicket.
Ashwin and Rohit Sharma opened the match on the second day. The two put on a partnership of 42 runs. Ashwin faced 62 balls and was dismissed for 23 runs. Pujara, Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav, who came later, all lost their wickets and left in a hurry. At the other end, Rohit stood and swayed.
