IND vs SL 2nd ODI | KL Rahul in charge: India win series against Sri Lanka

Kolkata: Indian cricket team won the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka by 4 wickets. With this, India won the 3-match ODI series 2-0. In this match, Indian team’s wicket keeper batsman KL Rahul batted responsibly and made the team win.

The Sri Lankan cricket team is touring India and playing cricket series. The team lost the T20 series 1-2. It also lost the first match of the ODI series. In this context, the second match started today at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. Batting first, the team scored 215 runs.

India chased down the target of 216 runs to win. India lost the wickets of batsmen like Rohit, Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer within 86 runs. Then KL Rahul played calmly along with Hardik. The two put on a partnership of 75 runs. Hardik was out for 36 runs. Axar Patel who came next scored 21 runs and got out.

KL Rahul, who remained unbeaten till the end, scored 64 runs off 103 balls. 219 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 43.2 overs successfully crossed the target. With this, they beat Sri Lanka by 4 wickets and won the series 2-0.

Earlier, Avishka Fernando and Nuvanitu Fernando opened the innings for Sri Lanka in the first innings. Avishka was out for 20 runs. Nuvanitu Fernando then put on a partnership of 73 runs with Gusal Mendis. However, the team did not have a stable partnership after that.

Mendis lost his wicket for 34 runs. Dhananjaya de Silva is out for no runs. Nuvanitu Fernando was then run out for 50 runs. Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Captain Shanaka, who scored a century in the last match, got out for 2 runs. At the end of 39.4 overs, the team lost all wickets and scored 215 runs. Kuldeep and Mohammad Siraj took 3 wickets each for Indian team. Umran Malik took 2 wickets and Axar Patel took one wicket.
