The Sri Lankan cricket team is touring India and playing cricket series. The team lost the T20 series 1-2. It also lost the first match of the ODI series. In this context, the second match started today at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. Batting first, the team scored 215 runs.
India chased down the target of 216 runs to win. India lost the wickets of batsmen like Rohit, Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer within 86 runs. Then KL Rahul played calmly along with Hardik. The two put on a partnership of 75 runs. Hardik was out for 36 runs. Axar Patel who came next scored 21 runs and got out.
KL Rahul, who remained unbeaten till the end, scored 64 runs off 103 balls. 219 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 43.2 overs successfully crossed the target. With this, they beat Sri Lanka by 4 wickets and won the series 2-0.
