Thiruvananthapuram: The 3rd and last ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Thiruvananthapuram today. The Indian team may work hard to win the ODI series 3-0.
India won the 3-match ODI series between the two teams by 67 runs in the first match in Guwahati and by 4 wickets in the 2nd match in Kolkata. Thus, India won the series 2-0. In this case, the two teams will meet in Trivandrum today in the last match.
The Indian team may be looking to win the series completely and the Sri Lankan team may be looking for a consolation win. Considering the workload in the Indian team, there is no chance of major changes in the batting. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav are doubtful to be fielded in today’s match against Sri Lanka as India are scheduled to play a series against a strong New Zealand team on the 17th.
There are likely to be a few changes in the bowling. Mohammad Shami may be rested for today’s match in view of the Test series against Australia. Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh may be fielded in his place. Similarly, the team management may also consider using Washington Sundar instead of Axar Patel. Kuldeep Yadav, who took 3 wickets in the 2nd game and contributed to the team’s victory, may once again put pressure on the Sri Lankan batting line-up.
