Public holiday on New Year’s Day
Manama: Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain announced a public holiday for all government institutions and offices in the country on New Year’s Day. In a circular issued in this regard, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister announced that all ministries, state departments and public institutions in Bahrain will be closed on January 1, 2024.
The traffic department has informed that measures have been taken to control traffic on the road and avoid accidents on the occasion of New Year’s Day. Deputy Director General Directorate of Traffic, Brigadier Muhammad Ali Addarraj said that the precautionary measures have been taken due to the possibility of traffic congestion on the roads on the night of December 31.
Officers will be deployed to intensify police patrolling on the roads leading to the celebrations. Officials have appealed to the public to follow the road rules and take special care of children participating in the festivities.
